WHAT IS A PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER?
A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is a professional who started their career and are experienced as a registered nurse (RN), but decided to go back to graduate school for a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. Â This Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to evaluate, diagnose and treat a wide variety of mental illnesses.
WHAT OTHER PROFESSIONALS MAY BE INVOLVED IN MY CARE?
We believe in a holistic, collaborative approach to care that is client-led. This means that during our appointments, we will make joint decisions on who needs to be involved in your psychiatric care. Some professionals that may be involved are primary care providers, therapists, or neuropsychologists.
DO YOU PRESCRIBE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES?
We will evaluate your need for controlled substances, for diagnoses such as ADHD or anxiety however just because you have a prescription for one of these medications does not mean that they will be re-prescribed at our practice. Â Our practice is very conservative about prescribing controlled substances and most likely, we will talk about other options for your particular symptoms.
DO YOU PROVIDE TELE-PSYCHIATRY SERVICES?
YES!  We are offering telemedicine/telehealth/telepsychiatry services to any client residing in Maryland that would like to schedule an appointment.
DO YOU PROVIDE SUBOXONE TREATMENTS FOR OPIOID DEPENDENCE?
At this time, we are not providing these services.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON MY FIRST VISIT?
Feeling stressed can be normal when thinking about making your first appointment or meeting your provider the first day. Â It is usually a much easier appointment then any of our clients expect. Â During your first appointment, we will be obtaining additional information from you. Â Basically we will sit and talk about your concerns, things that may be affecting your and causing some of your symtoms and recommended treatments. Â It is a team approach, meaning that our professionals will give you their opinion but also expect you to help with making decisions about your care.
DO YOU OFFER COUNSELING OR THERAPY?
No. Celebramed LLC, does not provide counseling or psychotherapy. We provide psychiatry/medication management services. We will gladly recommend you to a psychotherapist in the area.
